Obituary

Midge Ellen Kelly
May 24, 1961 – June 15, 2025

Midge Ellen Kelly, 64, of Bourbon, Missouri, passed away on June 15, 2025.

Born on May 24, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri, Midge was the beloved daughter of Barbara Joy Colbert of Lake Chapala, Mexico, and the late Brent Irl Greenberg. She graduated from Parkway Central High School and went on to pursue higher education, eventually building a multifaceted career rooted in service, health, and community.

Midge's professional life reflected her ever-curious spirit and passionate heart. She worked in cosmetology and sales before launching a Green Living Clinic, where she empowered others through holistic health and wellness. A lifelong learner, she earned multiple accreditations and certifications in natural health and spent countless hours volunteering at animal shelters and bird sanctuaries throughout the St. Louis area.

Midge was a beloved wife to James Kelly III, a devoted mother to Kalin Haiduc (Mike), and a doting grandmother to the joy of her life, Jackson Haiduc. She was also a proud stepmother to Shannon (Ryan) of Elmhurst, IL, and cherished her role as daughter-in-law to James Joseph Kelly (Nell). Midge's loving spirit extended deeply into her family. She was the treasured sister of Jay Herbert Greenberg (Sally) of Mill Valley, CA, and adored aunt to their children, Tasco, Gia, and Brent.

Midge will be remembered as an adventurous, outgoing, and tenacious woman who lived life on her own terms. Her love for nature, animals, and holistic living inspired everyone who knew her. Though her roots were in St. Louis, her journey took her to Hawaii, California, and finally to Bourbon, Missouri, where she embraced a peaceful life in the country with her husband, Jim. There, she cultivated a home full of love—raising animals, tending her greenhouse, and experimenting with homeopathic remedies, always seeking ways to heal and grow.

Midge's presence could light up any room. Her strength, compassion, and relentless drive touched the lives of all who crossed her path. Whether she was offering wisdom, lending support, or simply sharing a laugh, she made people feel truly seen. Her fierce love for her family —especially her daughter Kalin and grandson Jackson—was unmatched and unwavering.

Midge leaves behind a legacy of resilience, generosity, and joy. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Midge's memory to:
Children's Health Defense , a cause close to her heart
World Bird Sanctuary , one of her most beloved volunteer organizations
