Richard D.
Jacobs
March 23, 1928 – March 1, 2022
Richard D. Jacobs
Richard passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him. Richard was married to Marcia A. Moehle for 55 years, who pre-deceased him in 2004. He was a beloved father (father-in-law) of Dr. Richard (Susan) Jacobs, Jr., Susan (Steven) Mahler, Sally (Mark) Reddick, and the late Dennis Jacobs; a loving grandfather of Jennifer Jacobs Angell, Steven Jacobs, Todd, Tim and Tyler Kaplan, Rachel Mahler Roos, and Lindsey Mahler; a great-grandfather of Shayla Wilson Kaplan, Shaun Angell, Jackson, Noah and Emmersyn Roos; a close friend and beloved companion of Alene Schwent; a dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Richard was a Vice President with Merrill Lynch, having begun life earlier as a journeyman electrician, a former Vice President and Executive Officer of the IBEW, a Mason 32nd degree, a former church board deacon.
Richard was larger than life; he was unaware of how much of an impact he had on everyone who knew him. He was an amazing, loving, generous, loyal father, grandfather and great grandfather. He could captivate a room with his masterful stories. He loved entertaining others. He would pitch a tent for his children and their friends and grandkids to weave together the best ghost stories that are remembered over 50 years later! One of his many talents was his ability to play a song by ear on the piano, accordion or banjo, with group sing alongs. He served in the church choir, had a passion for cruising, the stock market, ham radio, flying airplanes, scuba diving, snorkeling, Democratic politics, and ceramics.
