Obituary

Richard (Rick) Francis Rudolph Jr. of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away peacefully in hospice care on his 82nd birthday with family at his side on May 21, 2023. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Nancy (Brunkhardt) Rudolph, his sons Andrew and Daniel Rudolph (Annabelle), his daughter Jill Dobson (Christopher), his granddaughters Emily and Katherine Rudolph, his brothers Guy and Neil Rudolph, sisters Beth Shipp and Mary Rudolph, and 10 nieces, and 10 nephews. His is preceded in death by his parents Richard Francis Rudolph Sr. and Helen Marie (Anna) Rudolph.

Richard was born and raised in Denver, Colorado graduating from Regis High School where he played varsity baseball, football, and basketball. He graduated from Regis University with a degree in Business Administration where he played college baseball.  Richard served in the United States Marine Reserve from 1963-1969 attaining the rank of Sergeant.

Richard worked for Humble Oil Company and Hallmark Cards before moving to St. Louis, Missouri in 1969. He founded and operated an accounting practice in Maryland Heights and Chesterfield specializing in the medical field for more than 50 years. He owned, raced, and bred more than 50 thoroughbred racehorses both individually and in partnerships, competing both locally and nationally.

Richard loved watching and attending St. Louis Cardinals baseball, St. Louis Cardinals and Rams football, and St. Louis Spirit and St. Louis University Billikens basketball. He was a member of Incarnate Word Catholic Church in Chesterfield serving as a volunteer in their food bank program for many years with his granddaughters.

Richard's life was characterized by his devotion to his family, his faith, and to his many long-time clients and friends. His final act of service came after his passing on May 21, 2023, when he became a tissue donor assisting others in recovery. This was a life lived-full; lived-well.

Details of a private memorial service will be released in the following weeks.
