Robert Leo Barczykowski passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the age of 84. Born February 14, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Leo Barczykowski and Theresa M. (Zamenski) Schuchman.

Robert's legacy will live on through his former wife, Barbara Barczykowski; his daughters, Debbie (Joe) Kaschmitter, Theresa (Joe) Pree, Debbie Tilford, Beth (Rick) Benz; his stepchildren, Donna (Rick) Hahn, Brian Blaisdell, Kim (Ralph) Patterson; his grandchildren, Gina (Steve) Tarwater, Robert (Crystal) Tucci, Matthew Mayfield, Adam (Heather) Mayfield, Brittany (Alex) Pree, Joey (Liz) Pree, Mackenzi Knope, Cassidy Kaschmitter, Ryker Benz, Easton Benz, Lori (Jason) Martinez, Kimberly Hahn, Noah Patterson, Sabrina Patterson, Chance, Julia; his nieces and nephew Troy (Joni) Hosty, Kim (Drew) Gal, Theresa Mull, Traci (Joel) Pirtle, Vicky Christensen; and many loving great and great-great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Robert was preceded by his two sisters, Beverly Hosty and Patricia Tucker who were definitely waiting for him with open arms.

Robert dedicated decades of his life "putting his life on the line" for the St. Louis City Fire Department where he was also known as Polack.  He was passionate about spending time with his family, riding horses and being a foodie. He enjoyed going to the horse races, feeding and watching the squirrels. He was an avid STL Cardinals fan and never missed the WWE Smackdown on Friday nights.

A special thank you to the Neuro Step Down unit at Mercy South Hospital for their loving care and support during his unexpected final days.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18 at Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home in Creve Coeur. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 19. Robert will be laid to rest at the Resurrection Cemetery.
