Obituary

Robert E. Donohue baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection Sat. February 24, 2024,

Beloved husband of Genevieve L. Donohue (nee Baker); dear father and father-in-law of John, David (Natalia), the late Robert "Bob" Donohue Jr. and the late Melissa Donohue, Todd and Tim (Cindy) Blackstock; dear grandfather of Robert III "Bobby" and Ayden and Cole and Kate Blackstock, dear brother of the late Marilyn Merolli; dear brother-in-law of Ronald (Pat) Baker; our dear great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend.

Bob was born in Pottsville, PA. Dec. 31, 1934. He graduated from Penn State University in 1956 and moved to St. Louis as an employee of the United States Steel Corporation. In 1960 he joined friends to start Mid-America Steel Company a specialty steel distributorship. He became President and sole Owner in 1968 and went on to establish a location in Tulsa OK and a machining operation, Precision Tool Company in St. Louis. Bob and his wife Jeni enjoyed traveling, whether on land or on cruises. They wanted to see as much of the beautiful world as they could. Bob liked being involved in charity work. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels, tutored middle school students in the Oasis program, visited Hospice patients for 15 years and was an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Bob and Jeni enjoyed membership in their church organizations, membership in bridge clubs, and touring the world by land and sea.

Bob loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed backpacking in the Grand Canyon and the trails of the Ozark mountains. Not only did he enjoy the Ozark trails, but the beautiful river as well. It was a source of relaxation for him, his friends, and his children who enjoyed being out in nature as much as Bob did. Bob loved his children very much and enjoyed traveling and activities with them. He enjoyed watching soccer games for his boys and volleyball games for his daughter. Their trips included the South Jersey Shore, float trips in the Ozarks, New York City, Kentucky Lake, Florida, Memphis, and other locations for ultimate family fun
