Obituary

Robin Dale Knuckles, 67 of Costa Mesa, CA formerly of Granite City, IL, and Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully on July 29th, 2024, after a brave and valiant battle with cancer. Surrounded by family, close friends, and his beloved partner of 15 years, Bonnie, Robin transitioned into eternity, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and unforgettable memories. Robin was an extraordinary musician and songwriter, whose passion for music began in the St. Louis and Southern Illinois areas.  In the mid to late 70's, he played in regionally renowned bands such as Effic and Griffin, and later in the bands Passenger and Troupe. Robin moved his family to Nashville in the early 90's. There, he was part of the Bell Cove Club community and made memories and friendships that endured to his last day.  Known for his electrifying guitar performances, Robin earned the nickname "Rockin Robin" and every time he took the stage, he left audiences in awe. To have met Robin was to never forget him. Beyond his musical achievements, Robin's greatest pride and joy was his son, Ian.  He cherished Ian deeply, taking immense pride in the man he grew into—a loving son, devoted husband, and caring father. Robin's love extended to his grandchildren, Bennett and Ansleigh, who knew him as "Papa" and Bonnie's grandchildren, Calvin and Dylana, who affectionately called him "Grandpa Robin" Their happiness brought him immeasurable joy. Robin was a man of kindness, humility, and warmth. He had a way of making everyone feel valued, and his genuine nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. Though his presence leaves an irreplaceable void, his loved ones find comfort in knowing that Robin is now with the Lord, free from pain and embraced by eternal peace.
Robin is survived by his longtime love, Bonnie Prosser; his son, Ian Knuckles; daughter-in-law, Leigh Ann Knuckles; Ian's mother, Diane Knuckles, who was Robin's wife for 27 years; grandchildren, Bennett and Ansleigh Knuckles; sisters, Sherrell Ziprich and Lisa Govro; brother, Ronald Knuckles; stepdaughters, Heather Richards and Casey Montgomery; and step- grandchildren, Dylana Miller and Calvin Montgomery.
