Shirley Cason

Shirley Cason (née McNutt) was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on May 8, 1934. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 14, 2026.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jim C. Cason, who passed away on August 4, 2014.

She is survived by her children, Phil Cason and wife Sandra (née Hohenstein), Ron Cason and wife Theresa (née Zerr), and Sue Gordon (née Cason) and husband John Gordon.

She was grandmother to James Gordon and wife Katie Ibsen, and Sarah Ari (née Gordon) and husband Isaiah Ari, Tyler Cason and wife Janine (née Loveland), Miranda Cason and spouse Grace Manternach, She was also great-grandmother to Harrison Ari.

Shirley lived in Chatham, Illinois, and later in Maryland Heights, Missouri. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chatham, Illinois, and later St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

Funeral Mass at St. John Bosco Church, 12934 Marine Ave., Creve Coeur, MO on Thursday, May 21 at 9:30 a.m. followed by burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loaves & Fishes, 2750 McKelvey Rd., Maryland Heights, MO 63043.
