Susan Turner, 69, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend to many, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 15th. She is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Hackmann Dielmann, her daughter, Courtney Turner Chambers, and her brother-in-law, True Knowles. She is survived by her three daughters, Sarah Hightower (Jeffrey), Laura Gibson (Alexandra), and Elizabeth Richardson (Zeke); four grandchildren (Olivia, Davis, and Jane Hightower & Jack Richardson); three sisters, Elizabeth Knowles, Sally Logan (Richard), and Carolyn Connolly; her brother Andy Dielmann (Kristin); and her father, Harold Dielmann.
Susan was born and raised in Creve Coeur, Missouri, where she attended Spoede Elementary School and Ladue Horton Watkins High School. After a brief time at the University of Missouri, she returned to St. Louis, where she married and raised her four daughters in the home where she also grew up. She was a dedicated employee of Mercy Hospital for 20 years before retiring. She spent her retirement years traveling to see her daughters in Los Angeles and Dallas and spending countless time with her grandchildren in St. Louis. She enjoyed traveling to Grand Haven, Michigan, a beloved family vacation spot. She was a friend to so many and will be missed and loved forever.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Church (9801 Olive Blvd.) on Saturday, May 21st, at 11:30 am. Reception to immediately follow the service.
