Suzanne E. Slattery
September 24, 1935 – November 25, 2024

Suzanne E. Slattery (nee Laufer), fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters Sharon (William) Huggett, Linda (Jeffrey) Smith and Sandra (Thomas) Butchart. Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William F. Slattery. She was a proud grandmother of Nicholas (Rebecca) and Brendan Huggett, Kelsey (Clark Priddy), Andrew, and Payton Smith, and William (Erin) and Mitchell Fairless and great grandmother to Adam Huggett. She was the daughter of George B. Laufer and Frances Laufer (nee Pohlman) and preceded in death by her beloved brother William W. Laufer and sister Mary F. Deck (nee Laufer). She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many.

Susie is a native St. Louisan who graduated from Visitation Academy and Fontbonne College. She loved sports, especially watching Bill play Billiken basketball.  She was the quintessential mother who valued family over all else. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her loved ones. She was a "shepherd" who gently led and guided her flock of children and grandchildren with her wisdom, grace, and guidance. Her sense of humor, love for life, beautiful smile, and laugh will be dearly missed. A true beauty inside and out. Whoever was lucky enough to call her Mom or GG was truly blessed.

The family would like to thank Cornelia, Lisa, Colleen, Nancy, and Wanda for their love, kindness, and never-ending patience. There is a special place in heaven for each and every one of them.
