Wesley J. Lomax of Creve Coeur, Missouri passed away on March 30 th , 2022 at the age of 92 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his family.
Wes will be fondly remembered by his children Cheri Lomax Buettmann and Tod Wesley Lomax, grandchildren Dr. Evan Buettmann PhD (Madelyn) and Taylor Reis Richards (Alex), and great-grandchildren Ryleigh & Trey Richards. He was also a wonderful uncle to Terry Pershall (Mary), the late Laura Pershall & Drs. Mary Alyce Curran PhD (Kent), Bruce Kelso & the late Thomas Robert Kelso.
Born in Granite City, Illinois to parents Carl Milton Lomax and Florence Sheehan, Wes was the younger brother of sister Jean Lomax Pershall (Walter). He attended the University of Wyoming, was then drafted by the Marine Corps and later graduated from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
Following graduation, Wes moved back home where he reconnected with the love of his life, Rosemary Dron, who taught English Literature at Granite City High School. The couple married on April 10 th , 1952 and immediately traveled to Las Cruces, NM, where Wes served in the Army at White Sands Proving Grounds working on the rocket & missile defense systems during the Korean War. Wes and Rosemary were wonderful parents to Tod and Cheri and spent many summers at the Lake of the Ozarks and every winter in Palm Springs, California with his extended family & friends. Wes & Rosemary were happily married just shy of 63 years.
Wes will be remembered as a great role-model, who had an entrepreneurial spirit, knack for building, and was extremely approachable and pragmatic. He served as president and later owner of R. Dron Electric Company and later Signal Systems & Supply, Inc. Wes loved to travel (he visited over 40 countries as part of the Young President's Organization), and was an avid golfer (member of Bellerive Country Club) who eventually scored a hole in one. Wes loved being the family grill master, cheering on the STL Cardinals, and collecting and sharing southwestern art. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather (a.k.a. Pop-Pop), great-grandfather and friend to many.
