William Eric Bergmann, Jr of St. Louis County, Missouri, passed away peacefully in his home July 13, 2024.

Eric was a devoted and loving husband, brother, father and grandfather.  He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 28, 1944 to Marcella and William Erik Bergmann.

Eric was a loyal employee of Ralston Purina. He was a Knight of Colombus, an active volunteer at St. Augustine Parish with Fr. Bob Gettinger, active with pro-life ministry, and was a eucharistic minister at Incarnate Word Parish in Chesterfield, MO.

Eric is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Bergmann, son Jon Eric Bergmann (wife, Kimberly Bathke), daughters Christina Sadasivam (husband, Shaker Sadasivam), Alicia Stone (husband, Brian Stone), Maria Varns, and grandchildren Noah Stone (wife, Autumn), Amelia Stone, Ethan Bergmann, Zachary Bergmann, Anju Sadasivam, David Sadasivam, Michael Sadasivam, Jonathon Sadasivam, Roric Varns, Gavin Varns, Jaxx Varns, and Case Varns, and great-granddaughter Dawsen Stone. He is also survived by his sisters Linda Bergmann and Gail Holstein (husband, Jim Holstein) and sister-in-law Clare Schumacher.  His nieces and nephews are Matthew Holstein (wife, Elise Holstein), Jennifer Palada (husband, Matt Palada), JC Schumacher, Sarah Franseze (husband, John Franseze), Amy Anzelone (husband, Subby Anzelone).

Eric will be sorely missed by many. We will cherish the memories of wit and humor, games of cribbage and pinochle, attendance at sports events cheering and coaching his children and grandchildren, his encouragement, his faithfulness to prayer and the sacraments, and most of all, his unconditional love.

Memorial Mass at Incarnate Word Catholic Church, 13416 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield, MO on Saturday, July 27 at 11 a.m. with visitation at church one hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fr. Bob's Outreach , c/o St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1371 Hamilton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63112.
