William "Bill"
Body
February 20, 1933 – August 13, 2024
William (Bill) Body, 91, of Creve Coeur Missouri passed away peacefully at home on August 13th, 2024.
Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years Judy Body, his sons Dan and Don Body, and his daughters-in-law Ann and Maureen Body. He was deeply loved by his family and grandchildren: Allison (Body) Hamilton, Brian Body, Sam Body, Andrea (Body) Cassimatis, Kevin Body, and Colleen Body.
Born on February 20, 1933, in New York City to Helen and Daniel Body, he lived a full, active, and impressive life. He spent his early days in New York City before moving to St. Louis to attend Parks College/St. Louis University. He married "his Bride", as he liked to call Judy, in 1958 and remained in St. Louis to build a long (53 years) and distinguished career as an Aeronautical Engineer at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing.
While he loved his work, his "Bride" and family were always his first priority. He traveled the world with Judy, and they enjoyed many trips with good friends. He loved talking investments and worked every day to create a better life for his family…but mostly he just liked being home "tinkering" on house projects or showing up for anyone who needed help on their house.
Bill was a generous man with a quiet and kind spirit who was always willing to put the needs of others ahead of his own. He came from very humble beginnings and created a terrific life for his "Bride," his sons, and their families. If you became a friend, you were a friend for life…and you could always count on his help, love, and support. For all those who knew and loved him, they know he was a "teacher" at heart! Nothing made him happier than sharing his wisdom with his grandkids – with one of his favorite "pearls" being "pay yourself first" . He especially loved "wine nights" with his adult grandkids, who were his pride and joy. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy that is visible in each of his six grandkids.
Services will be held at Bonhomme Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM Monday, August 26th, followed by a Lunch Reception at Bonhomme.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to woundedwarriorproject.org (his favorite charity), Tunnels to Towers t2t.org (for his love for New York City), or the Cardinal Glennon Adult Congenital Cardiology Program (for the "heart connection" with his grandson Kevin). glennon.org
