William Fenn Cleveland July 20, 2026

Beloved husband of the late Myong Cha Pak Cleveland for 37 years; dear father of Linda Cleveland and Roger P. Cleveland II (Tara); beloved grandfather of Noah A. Cleveland, Addasyn N. Cleveland and Katherine Michelle Johnson.

Mr. Cleveland joined the military in 1965 after his High School graduation. He Served 3 years and received an honorable discharge. He then went to college for one year. After college he reenlisted and made a career in the U.S. Army. After active duty he decided to retire in 1987. In August 1990 the Army needed retired soldiers with skills, knowledge and abilities. So, he volunteered and was mobilized out of retirement for service during the Gulf War (Desert Shield/Desert Storm). After 26 months He retired again with an honorable discharge. In 2004 the Army was once again looking for retirees to rejoin the ranks to assist with the war on terrorism.

He was mobilized for 3 years. During the last mobilization he served his first year at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland and worked for the Joint Personal Effects Depot where he assisted in inventory of all personal effects of U.S. Military and department of defense personnel killed and wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.

William served his last two years of active duty at the Army Human Resources Command and Records Center in St. Louis, Missouri where he personally assisted in helping retired veterans receive benefits due to them for their military service. During William’s military service he received numerous awards and decorations. Overall, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam (2 year), five tours of duty in Korea (9 years), one tour in Germany (3 years) and served at several bases in the United States.

William was a member of the American Legion Post 1000 in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was well liked in the community. William made many friends from World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and the Gulf War. These veterans hold a special place in his heart.
