Mr. William "Bill" Clyde Porter, Sr., Age of 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday October 12, 2022.

Bill was born on March 4, 1947 to the late Sarah and Irvin Porter, being the first child in the family of eleven; Larry, Louise, Betty, Mike, John, Becky, Sharon, Steve, Debbie, and Terry.  At the age of 16, Bill's father passed away early in life, leaving his mother to raise them alone, in which he loved her with all his heart.

Through mutual friends, Bill met the love of his life, Sandra Porter, and just after a couple encounters officiated the relationship with their first kiss on August 13th, 1963.

On January 22, 1966, the couple united in holy matrimony and remained happily married for 56 years, nine months, and what proceeded to be eternity, where they formed a beautiful life together.

This union was blessed with three children; Bill Porter, Jr., Dawn Reid, and Sandy Mayer.  Nine grandchildren; Shannon, Matthew, Amber, Jake, Rachel, Gunnar, Hunter, Morgan, and Amanda. Four great grandchildren; Noah, Dallas, Dakota, and Demmi--being the pride and joy of Bill's life.

Bill found himself in a dark place after losing his son unexpectedly on August 20, 2007 and turned to the St. Louis Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church for guidance where he met Pastor Vic Van Schaik.

Bill proceeded to overcome some hardships and quit smoking on December 11, 2010, after 47 years and on January 15, 2011 was baptized where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.

There will be services held on Bill's behalf Saturday October 22, 2022 at Ortmann's Funeral Home, Lackland Ave.
