William Robert
Guiot
January 17, 1937 – June 30, 2023
Guiot, William Robert
Baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Fri., June 30, 2023. Beloved husband of Carole Guiot (nee Proost); dear father and father-in-law of William Gregory (Rebecca) Guiot and David (Elizabeth) Guiot; loving grandfather of Jessica, Isabelle, Noah, Joshua and Nicholas Guiot; dear brother of the late Teresa Staszkiewicz; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, godfather and friend.
Bill grew up in St. Louis city, going to Holy Trinity grade school and De Andreis High School, where he graduated in 1954. He worked his way through college at St. Louis University, first earning a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering in 1959 and then at night, earning a M.B.A in 1963.
He started his career at Olin Corporation in East Alton, Illinois in 1959 before moving to the Monsanto Company in Creve Coeur, Missouri in 1969, where he spent the rest of his working career through the late 90's.
When he and Carole married in 1962, they moved to the Creve Coeur area and joined St. Monica Parish, where they remained to the present day. He sustained a strong faith in God, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an active and caring man who spent most of his life thinking about others. He always made time for his children and grandchildren and maintained amazing relationships with them throughout his life.
In the summer, Bill could often be found out in Colorado with his wife Carole, his children and his grandchildren, where he enjoyed the sunshine, hiking and watching the various wildlife from their home away from home in Estes Park.
In later years he loved watching sports on television, particularly the Cardinals, the Blues and all manner of college sports. If there was a game to be seen, he was probably watching it.
Bill's pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met. He was not only a kindhearted father and grandfather but also a wonderful husband. His family will miss him dearly.
Funeral Mass at St. Monica Church, 12136 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Tues., July 11 at 10 a.m. with visitation at church 1 hour prior to mass. Interment St. Monica Cemetery.
