Obituary

William (Bill) Lombrano

May 31, 1933 – September 18, 2023

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, surrounded by family, Bill Lombrano, 90, went peacefully to his Eternal Rest on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023 at his home in Chesterfield, MO.

He is survived by his adoring daughters, Barbara (John II) Williamson and Gigi Lombrano; Grandson, John Williamson III. He was preceded in death by his best friend and loving wife of over 60 years, Mabel Lombrano and their son, Joey Lombrano.

Bill was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. He played high school and college football where he earned the nickname "Moose".  His college team was the first team to win a National Championship for the University. Bill also played semi-professional baseball for the Locos.

Bill was a retired School Psychologist for the Great Bend, KS school district. Prior to that, he realized his personal dream of owning his own business, Veltri's, a family steakhouse restaurant in Frontenac, KS. Prior to that, Bill served as an educator for many years and then as principal for Northeast High School in Arma, KS.

Bill was known for his joyful smile, his love of people, his kindness and patience as well as being a devout and faithful man. It is safe to say he never met a stranger. He fiercely loved his family and God. Many of his caregivers remarked, "the world needs more Bills." Bill donated his body to St. Louis University for medical research.
