McClure, William Edward, passed away, Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the age of 91.
Beloved husband of sixty-three years to the late Omega McClure; father of Bartley and Stuart McClure; brother of Colleen Carter and Lynn McClure; grandfather of Bradley (deceased), Sara (Aaron) Cheeney, Courtney (Alan) Timmerman, Leanne, Noah (Rebecca) and Jacob; great-grandfather of three; dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Bill was born in Parson, TN, son of Bonnie P. and Elsie (Davis) McClure, the second of three children. After graduating high school at age 17, he went to Peoria IL, before volunteering and serving in the United States Air Force. After his service he earned his Bachelor degree in Engineering from the University of Tennessee; during which time he and Omega were married on June 8, 1958. His professional career started at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing shortly after graduation. While working at McDonnell he earned a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from a Saint Louis University. He eventually finished his professional career as VP of Engineering at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT.
