Obituary

William Patrick Sloan baptized into the hope of Christ resurrection, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the age of 82.  Born June 17, 1943, to William and Nora (Waldron) Sloan in Chicago, Illinois.  He married Kathryn Krieter, together they had 4 children.  His career relocated his family to St. Louis, Missouri.  He retired from and worked for over 30 years for the 3M corporation.  He was a graduate of Lewis University.  He served in the Army Reserves and on several boards including the Incarnate Word school board and a treasurer for Old Farm Estates.  He was skilled with electronics and computers. A prankster and had a great sense of humor, joking to the very end.He enjoyed boating and traveling with his bride on the many sales trips he won and with his family to Florida every year.  In addition, he enjoyed cruises and international travel with the "out-laws" the Krieter side of the family.   He leaves behind his wife Kathryn married for 59 years, children William (Lynn) Sloan, Carolyn (Jeff) Sullivan, Elizabeth (Scott) Roux, and Maureen (Cory) Gehrlein.  Also surviving is his sister Maryellen Donnelly, brothers Kevin (Linda) Sloan and Donald (Anna) Sloan and brother-in-law Dr. Michael Jennings.  Sisters' in-laws and brother in-laws,Betsy Guimon, Carolyn (Tim) Bracken,Jim (Pam) Krieter and Barbara (Phil) Sherwood.  Siblingsand in-laws Thomas (Kathryn) Sloan, Margaret Jennings, Dan Donnelly and Ron Guimon preceded him in death.   He was loved by many nieces and nephews.  "Papa" cherished his time spent with his 11 grandchildren Jack, Maggie, Will, Catey, Olivia, Joey, Grace, Aubrey, Lauren, Elise and Abigail.

Visitation at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur, Missouri 63141; on Friday, 3/20/26 9:30 am to 11:30 am to Incarnate Word Church, 13416 Olive Blvd, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017 for 12:00 noon mass.  Internment Holy Cross Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to Incarnate Word Parrish Tuition Assistance Program.
