Obituary

William Richard Wagoner passed away peacefully in his home on January 13, 2025 at the age of 85. William, known affectionately as Bill or "Wags", was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Bill was married to Pamela "Sue" Wagoner for 44 wonderful years. He was the proud father of three children: Craig (Gina) Wagoner, Robert (Kim) Wagoner, and Amy (Tim) Wood. His legacy continues through his six cherished grandchildren: Caroline, Meghan, Julianna, Lauren, Nathalie, and Shelby, as well as four great grandchildren.

Bill was born on October 25, 1939 in his cherished city of St. Louis. A graduate of Southwest High School, Class of '57, Bill went on to earn a  Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. His professional career began at Century Electric and led to a long and successful career at IBM.

Bill had a passion for life that was evident in his many interests. He was an avid fan of Cardinal baseball, enjoyed golfing and bowling, listening to old jazz and loved to travel. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever.

Bill is survived by his brother, Robert (Nancy) Wagoner. He was preceded in death by his father, Millard C. Wagoner, and his mother, Maxine V. Wellman.

Bill's warmth, kindness, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or 800-272-3900.
